Duration of the attempt: 1 hour +
Position***: Lying on bed with hands by side.

Results: Entered hypnogogic state but lost consciousness and fell asleep. Tried two more times, but fell asleep both times.

Sensations experienced:****
Was semi-woken a short while later with a twitch, followed by pulsating wave of tingling sensation in right leg. Possibly minor vibrations? Then came too far out of hypnogogic state.

Comments: Go to bed earlier so not so tired in the mornning. (Not 2 am!!) Used a blindfold for first time as it's quite light this time of year at 5am. Seemed to help well with disassociation with environment. Tonight, will try new program Sharm 1.7 to help with relaxation and OBE attempt using OBE hypnosis script too.

Astral Projection Technique: Roll out
URL of this technique:
Duration of the attempt: 1 hour
Position: Lying on bed with hands by sides palm down.

Results: Entered hypnogogic state but lost consciousness for a short while.

Sensations experienced:
Was woken a short while later with a tingling throughout my chest going downward. A pleasant tingling but only for a fraction of a second. Possibly minor vibrations? Then came too far out of hypnogogic state again.

Comments: Get a GOOD night's sleep before trying instead of waking up earlier than usual and trying. Used a blindfold again. Seemed to help well with disassociation with environment. Will try Dustin Ewan MP3, thanks to Synilarc's generosity.

31st July 2008.

Tried a new hypnosis MP3 today. Seems effective. Have noticed that I have periods of not listening and lack of concentration to the words being said. I think it's tiredness.
This morning's attempts weren't very great. Had a sort of headache and didn't feel right from the start. There was a lot of electrical activity outside due to the weather which always affects how I feel somehow.

Went to sleep far too late last night.
Fell asleep all three times again this morning as a result!!
Loss of body consciousness was achieved, but sleepiness was too overpowering to resist.

**ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE:
Go to bed much earlier and get a GOOD night's sleep. Will try to wake up a bit more before trying in the mornings.

August 18th.

Hey! Had some progress last night.

Went to bed reading a book on AP (Have an OBE in 30 days by Keith Harary and Pamela Weintraub). I intentionally read until I was falling asleep and tried to stay lucid while 'letting go' mentally. After a short while I fell asleep.
Suddenly I became lucid in my dream. There was no trigger or 'wake up reality check'. I just said to myself 'hey this is a dream.' I thought 'Oh, what do I want to do? .... I know, how about see what the lottery numbers will be!' So I picked up a newspaper and began to turn the pages. Found a pen and paper and thought 'I need to remember these carefully.' Then it dawned on me; I'd need to travel to the future first!! Otherwise I might be looking at any old numbers. LOL So closed my eyes and willed myself to the future. There was a loud rumbling and vibration in my head. I opened my eyes and I was somewhere else. I must have lost consciousness soon afterwards as I don't remember much else except for that everything was bluish.

August 23rd.

Spent about 3 hours trying today. From about 3pm to 6pm. In all tried 4 or 5 times in that period.

Used my relaxation audio clips 1-5 (see relaxation techs thread):
Relaxation techniques.

Had strange electric pulses rippling down my sides after about half an hour on 3 occasions. Having gone through all 4 relaxation audio clips, I tried the counting your way into sleep method starting from 50 counting down slowly while drawing the numbers in my head. Never reached 20 as far as I know! Even so, I only lost consciousness twice for about 10-15 minutes each time.

Was wakened by the electric rippling as mentioned above.

**Adjustments to be made:
Try the count down method again, but start at 30 and count down.
