is all i can concede!.....though (lol)....

Indeed he did...but sometimes it takes another to point out a possible error in anothers own belief system. We are all blinded by our beliefs. Mine in Seth and consciousness, and Christians and their shit....

does the fault lie with the belief, or with the believer and his interpretation or with both?

Thats what Bud says...dont attach to anything.
Thats good to me...but as Im sure you all know...damn near impossible.....again..just a belief.

excellent. yes! having crossed the river, disgard the raft!

I have the belief that something goes on cuz Ive been cognative outside my skin.

therein lies the difference - whilst we both believe in something, rebirth/reincarnation/transmigration etc. - your belief has the great blessing of being backed by experience, thus furthering your understanding. mine simply exists on the foundation - buddhas teachings have prooved right to me this far so i'll take it on good faith. faith is ok, nothing wrong with it per se - but your belief is built with a stronger foundation. perhaps that is why the topic seems more pressing to you than i - you are ready to learn further about it!

outlooks man...
thats really all we have...

the dhammapada is a good place to start -

dhammapada

i haven't read this one but it's supposed to be a classic -

what buddha taught

this one is quite comprehensive and has a good explanation of the four noble truths, eight fold path, twelve chains of co-dependat arising and other teachings of the buddha -

buddhist handbook

that should get you started! :)
