thanks Rev..
tho a little to long for me to delve into at present..
Ill try and read it a bit later...

And Derk...Christians appear to know only what they are told...
they really dont seem to be able to think for themselves
on issues like this..
they just defend a book written by people in power, not to mention
the old testament was written what, 200 years after it all supposedly went down...etc etc.
Anyway...they defend it by reciting it without thinking about it...
and if the bible doesnt have their answer..it is bad or evil...and blamed
on the devil...
they think you just having those thoughts is demonic or evil...
come...the fuck...on...
lol..

youll get over the hating Christians before long...
youll see its a waste of energy hating any of it...
just let em believe what they will...no sense in trying
to make them see things they really arent ready to see..
knowingly or unknowingly, they will all wake up when they are ready.

know what I mean?

yeah they basically said i have no morals if im not christian and then that whole 'you will be judged no one excapes God's wrath' and i laughed at them and got kicked out of the room =P
i just find it a shame that people waste their lives going to church, praying, living in fear ya know? its more pity than hate

There is no need to pity them Josh, don't forget, this is their reality. And if it works for them then it's good. If their thing is not yours, then just stay away from it/them, don't react to whatever they say to you.

I work with several deeply religious guys. They spend most of their free time at church. They believe, they pray, they live their lives based on the scriptures of the Bible. And you know what? It works for them. They are pretty well balanced, "normal" people, easy to get along with, and they don't push their beliefs on others.
Years ago I had debates with them about the Bible and their beliefs, I could not understand how all that stuff sounds true to them. I know better now. The thing is, not everyone is suited for individual thinking. There are many people who don't know how to structure their own lives. They've been brought up with the dogmas of their religion, and those basically instruct them how to run their lives. They don't have to deviate from the "plan", they don't have to take risks, they don't have to make difficult decisions, the Bible takes care of that. And many people need the comfort that this kind of life brings.
We have many thoughts, feelings, some we understand about ourselves and some we don't. Some people are frightened by their own thoughts and feelings, reactions, and don't know what to do with them. The Bible takes care of that also, it tells them what's appropriate and not, so people don't have to agonize over what to do with their errant thoughts either.
So religion suits a lot of people, it shapes their reality, and their reality is not worth any less than ours, no matter how different it might be.
My philosophy is kind of like "live and let live". Let everyone create, live, enjoy the reality they made for themselves, and not judge those whose reality don't make sense to us. Not unless their reality and actions do others harm. Then of course we have to kick their arses.
